Whether to use one gnucash file for all three or three separate gnucash files
is a philosophical problem.
After being married for over 20 years, I pay no attention to my husband's
money. And he doesn't pay attention to mine.
About 8 years ago I banned him from withdrawing from the joint account without
speaking to me first because the books never balanced his way.
If you are that closely entwined that you are looking after her money then one
file for all three, all under Assets if you wish. But looking after her
account may not lead to harmony.
