GnuCash and Postgres

Has anyone tried (recently) to link GnuCash with Postgres?  The most 
recent HOWTO indicated that there were changes with GnuCash and it 
probably wouldn't work with Postgres at this time.  Is this still 
true, or is the HOWTO out of date?

I'm trying to link the Gnucash data into a web server.  I have 
software for linking the web pages to Postgres.  Has anyone on the 
list tried this before?
