since we're sort of on the trumpet linux bandwagon a bit here... fwiw,,, 
Washington State (US) has online filing for just about all their taxes. 
They actually actively support other browsers besides IE and they import 
data from standard csv files instead of just Excel. I sent them an email 
thanking them for this support and they were actually enthusiastically 
responsive though they live and work in the shadow of Redmond.
