Defalut expense category

Actually, when I enter 'e' I get "Equity" from the auto section -- if I enter
"ex" then I get Expense.

Actually, no, it is not.  You can type 'e' or you can type 'E' and it 
will match
properly.  Go ahead and try it yourself (I just did :)
