How to get rid of saved file

I used "File/Save As" to save my accounting information in /tmp/s1.  I
did this thinking it might help with a problem now fixed.  Now the file
menu gives be a choice of gcash or s1.  I'd like to get rid of s1, but
have not found a way to do so.  Deleting /tmp/s1 and an empty file 
~/.gnucash/books/s1 does not do the job.  I can (and have) stored again
to /tmp/s1, but whether it is there or not, I find no way to get rid of
