Did you put accounts into your tax tables?  Did you specify the tax table
in the invoice?  Can you show some screen shots of your invoice and
the A/P account?  (Turn on split-mode for the invoice's transaction
in the latter screenshot).

PS: Did you mention what version of gnucash?
