Column resizing

Thanks for your reply Elizabeth.

I had started at the left hand side, but nothing permits me to expand 
columns after the description column; it only contracts them. I've now 
reached the stage where columns like deposit, withdrawal and balance 
show either one digit only or no digits at all!

Is there any more radical suggestion, because now the bank accounts file 
is simply useless.
