GuppiPlugInSpec Error

I have installed GnuCash 1.8.11 on OSX, and when I start the  
application in X11 Term. window i get the following error at start-up;

Application "GuppiPlugInSpec" (process 19468) has crashed due to  
fatal error (Bus Error) Please Visit the GNOME Application Crash page  
for more information

Any help trouble-shooting this error would be very much appreciated.
