Splitting Expenses Monthly

Hi, this is a question mostly about using formulas in
transactions. I live in a house with five other
people, and we share expenses. Some people are
excluded from some of the expences.
At the end of the month, we figure out who owes money
to whom.
I would like to be able to this in Gnucash. Ideally,
as an SX that adds up all of those month's expenses
and divides them by the number of people associated
with that expense. I remember reading that this has
not been implemented, so the second best thing would
be to have a report that would figure this out, and I
would manually enter transactions based on the report.
I am willing to write such a report, the problem is
that I have had no luck figuring out how to do it: I
have no experience with any Lisp-like languages.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might do
this?
Thank you,
Michael
