Hi,
Yeah, you're right -- searching pipermail is a PitA.. Before the major
update we had a search engine in place, listed off the mailman listinfo
page and also listed on the pipermail archive page. The old search
engine was kinda slow and bad.
I've been working on implementing a namazu search over the lists, but it's
still experimental. I announced it on the -devel list, but not the -user
list (because it's experiemental).. But... You can try it out at
https://lists.gnucash.org/cgi-bin/namazu.cgi
Be warned... This URL might change in the future, and the look-and-feel
will (hopefully) improve. I also expect to link it into mailman and pipermail
when I can..
