gnucash not starting?

Hi, can you help get me started with gnucash on OS X (10.4.2). I  
installed x11, fink, fink-commander and try running gnucash with the  
following error:

jlap$ /sw/bin/gnucash

Gnome-ERROR **: Could not create per-user Gnome directory </Users/ 
jlap/.gnome/accels> - aborting

aborting...
Abort trap
