Gnucash 1.8 crashing on reports

I've been using this for a while, 1.8.12-8 Debian package, and now trying to 
make a report from a register I get a crash. so I ran from a terminal and got 
this backtrace
Has anyone any quick fix while I wait for Gnucash 2.0?
