NEWBIE QUESTIONS

Hello everybody!

First post here, excited about gnuCash, just started (using 1.9.6 on
Kubuntu 5.10).

Questions:

1) Credit card installments
Trying to keep track of my credit cards. Most of my purchases are on a
multi-installment basis, i.e. "plasma tv, eur 2000, 36 monthly
installments of the same amount".

Is there a way to do this automatically? I was thinking about something
in the lines of:
Open up a wizard, record a purchase with "Liabilities - Credit cards - X
card" versus "expenses - home - electronic equipment". The wizard asks
if this is a recurring payment, I answer yes, then asks the time
interval (month) and the number of re-occurrences (35) and that's it.


2) Loan calculations
Same thing (and worse) with loans or mortgages. Manually entering twelve
monthly payments for 25 years is a lot of work, I am sure there's some
way to do this automagically - is there?
