Sounds as though Guy should try Mandriva. I am running Mv2006, which
installed 1.8.9 (I think) and took care of all dependencies. I have
Finance::Quote 1.10. I then uninstalled the Mandriva version (which didn't
of course touch the dependencies) and installed 2.0.1 with "make
install." (since I couldn't get an RPM to compile with the spec file.
Amazing how distro-specific they can often be!) Have had no problems. The
same method should work with any distro.
