QIF Import and accounts

So what should be my strategy to get my Excel data history (and future data) into GNC?
Try completely different account hierarchies for each currency?
Try little QIF files to train the importer?
Try little QFX files to train the importer?
What is the most promissing way?

Nope. nor can OFX handle split transactions.
