New installation question on GnuCash 2.0.4

I am running on Slackware.

I installed all the dependency files and and started up gnuCash  but I am getting a dialog box that stated:

GnuCash could not obtain the lock for /root/test_gnucash

Any suggestions or direction would be greatly appreciated.
