What do you use for lot tracking?

Question for the list: What do you use to track which lots of stocks in 
your portfolio were sold? Do you have a tool or method you use with 
gnucash? Is this better accomplished outside of gnucash in a spreadsheet 
of your own design?

Since making the change away from those other tools this is one point of 
pain I've been struggling with. I'd like to learn what others are doing 
before I go off reinventing the wheel.
