Guile 1.6.7 and 1.6.8 have different ways of initalizing slib (as per
guile-1.6.8:NEWS), leading to this issue.  Note that this isn't a
problem with gnucash's configure script, but an un-finished slib
install.

Also, I'm aware that that's not a solution, but hopefully it'll point
you in the correct direction...

But if you're not ready to do a fair amount of digging to fix this, you
should wait for your distribution/maintainer to understand the issues
and update the packaging.
