Very odd tab behavior in tab window

Hi, everyone. I've been quietly using GnuCash for a year now, and I'm
fairly happy with it. I use it almost entirely for creating invoices.
I had been running on a 600 mhz machine so I was behind in my updates.
After installing Gentoo on my Thinkpad, I finally had a newer version of
GnuCash: 2.0.5 (r15617). I'm running Gnome (light).
Immediately I found a very odd situation. After clicking into a field on
the register, after entering data, I try to tab around the fields. The
focus seems to be moving along the input fields at the top of the page.
Once the focus seems to enter the register, every time I press 'tab' the
'Description' field gets wider, causing the window to eventually become
abnormally wide.
Searching by 'tab' doesn't work in Bugzilla, but I found a variety of
tab-related bugs in there, such as:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411913
The window growing thing is the oddest part of it. Is there perhaps
something about my configuration that is affecting this? Or is this just
a tweak which remains yet to be completed?
Thanks for any help,
JT
