GnuCash for mac OSX 10.4 on Intel Macs

Mac applications are usually in the form of an "application bundle". That is, a directory that ends in .app and contains a bunch of files in certain places, including a sort of manifest file.

A .dmg is a disk image. It is a popular way to distribute the application bundle. I don't understand why they don't just make a zip file. It would work about as well. But Mac people expect a .dmg.

I've made application bundles for Mac OS X, but only for a very simple and easy-to-package application. Nothing like GnuCash. I guess that the application bundle could include everything in /sw (where all the fink-installed stuff lives, from glib upwards) and someone could write an AppleScript script to start the X server and GnuCash. I haven't yet figured out how to do anything with AppleScript. I'm not even at the Hello World level.

I suspect that someone who actually knows Macs could make an usable if sub-optimal package relatively easily. As for me, my background is Linux, not Mac. I've had this Mac for a short while and I'm figuring it out.

Cheers,
Daniel.

You need all the dependencies as well.

I've never written a Mac installer, so I don't know what's entailed.
We would also (probably) want a fat-binary installer, too.. I don't
know how hard that would be.
