gnucash connection to the internet

Perhaps you can answer a question. When starting Gnucash it asks for
permission to access a DNS server on the internet. However, the address is
different each time. Also some of the addresses seem to have nothing to do
with gnucash. One of them is Microsoft's update site, another is a company
called easynet. I have not been able to find out who the anther two are and
there may be more. I, like a lot of people, would be nervous about entering
personal information that could be transmitted across the web. I note that
the program warns of a fault if permission is refused. Could you tell me who
it is trying to contact and why?
