QIF import: loss of payee, memo data

When I import a QIF file into gnucash, the importer appears to lose
either the payee or the memo data:
-For bank and credit card accounts, the payee imports correctly but
the memo is dropped (I assume that it should show up as "Notes" in the
gnucash register).
-For investment accounts, the payee is dropped and the memo becomes
the payee (shown as "Description" in the gnucash register).

Is this a known problem, or am I just looking for the data in the wrong place?

I am using gnucash 2.2.1 on Windows XP.
