gnucash-command not found

:0

I had gnucash operating correctly this morning. Now it says command  
not found!
I googled and  set up (export DISPLAY=:0) YESTERDAY now it quit  
working.X11 is running and DISPLAY is set correctly. I also created  
a .bash_profile with (export DISPLAY=:0) in it. What did I do wrong?
