The gda-dev branch is attempting to do this. The goal is to get
it working on SQLite, Mysql, and PG, and then migrate the file backend
from XML to SQLite as the default.
Of course, it's still a work-in-progress and still has a long was to
go before it's usable. Then we need proper migration tools and such.
