Need accounting advice

OK, lets ask it the other way:
can I merge two gnucash files and how?
or, can I import one gnucash file into another, together with all
transactions?

PS. I attempted to export with GnucashToQIF, mentioned in FAQ, but it
does not work (corrupt XML file error, possibly result of using Estonian
keyboard, cause it complains about "invalid XML character found in the
prologue of the document"), and, to be honest, using XAC>QIF>XAC looks a
bit like fixing ones teeth through anus anyway.
