incorrect starting balance -> can't find the issue

Okay so last month my checking account reconciled without a problem.  This
month though, I'm off $8.12.

I noticed that this month's starting balance according to gnucash and the
balance according to the statement are off by $8.12.  I've read that the
most common problem that causes this is a transaction that gets either
unreconciled or deleted by accident.  The only transaction I have listed for
$8.12 is from 02/14/2005 and it is reconciled.  So, the next thought was
that I deleted a transaction.  So I went back through ALL my statements back
to the first statement that gnucash started keeping track of and THE ONLY
transaction for $8.12 is the one that is already recorded and reconciled.
Please help!!  All my future statements are going to be off now!
