Possibly needs to be said --- unless your jurisdiction REQUIRES you keep
a single set of books for reporting it is normally to your advantage to
keep each currency as a separate book. True, when you want to compute
your net worth as of a certain date or determine your net income for a
specified time period you have to THEN combine amounts from the reports
of each in a spreadsheet according to the exchange rates in effect at
the time. But in exchange you get freedom to pick the date (and thus the
exchange rate if that varies over time) and being able to do that can be
valuable --- similar to timing the sales of securities to claim gains or
losses in a particular reporting period.

If you are doing substantial activity in more than one currency please
consult with an accounting professional experienced in dealing with the
legal and tax requirements of your jurisdiction.
