Keyboard issues

Hi all,
First off, thanks for all the help I have gotten on this list before.   
Second, I have a keyboard issue.  I have been looking at using Gnucash  
and have just update to the new 2.2.8 version through Fink.  While  
running Gnucash and trying to put information into any text window,  
the characters that appear in the window are not anything near to what  
I typed.  Mostly any text key typed displays a number or punctuation  
in the window.  For the record I am running it on Mac OSX 10.5

Any ideas?
