How about providing some symptoms? You can run 


gnc-fq-dump <source> symbol

from a terminal and see what results you're fq is getting. You can
also run gnucash with the '--logto stderr --log "gnc.scm=debug"' flags
to get some more console output. (watch out, the reports can spew a
lot of output). If you pull up and run get quotes, switch over to the
terminal and look right near the end for some output. 

post all that up to the list and see what floats.
