Crash on startup

While I was trying to update our distro to gnucash 2.2.3, I found it is
now crashing on startup.  This also happens now with 2.2.2.  Here is
the output when starting on the console:

Looks like it is a problem with guile 1.8.3.  It seems to work fine
with guile 1.8.1.  Is there any way to make it work with 1.8.3?
