Installing Finance::Quote Problems

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 2.6.18-6-amd64. I have GNUCash installed and
loaded. I have created a few stocks and tried to update them
automatically. I have selected yahoo, and the stocks are from the TSX
and NYSE exchanges. Located in Canada. Examples are BBY and CAT on NYSE
and Encana (ECA) and Toronto Dominion Bank (TD) on TSX.

I have tried to install Finance::Quote, and lots happened, but it did
not appear to work.

I am very novice at Linux, and am not sure of how to do things, or what
and where things are. As in go to where it is does not tell me where it
is or if it is?

Please give me detailed commands to get automatic stock price updating
to happen, or questions I need answers to, and how to get the answers.
