Register Column Widths

Didn't find this subject in the Wiki FAQs; so how do I modify the widths 
of the columns in the register.  I got the date column to behave; but I 
can't seem to change the width of any of the other columns.  In 
particular, "description" which takes up most of the screen display.

I'm using CentOS 5, Gnome desktop, and GnuCash 2.2.4.
