Gnucash Windows Vista install problem (gconfd-2.exe Entry point not found)

Richard,
please be sure to answer to the list, too (reply to all).
I'm pretty sure, that
C:\Program Files\gtkmm\bin
is the culprit. You may do the following to be able to do a clean install:
Start a command window (cmd.exe) and enter the following commands:
C:\Users\Dad> set
PATH=C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem
C:\Users\Dad> start c:\downloads\gnucash-2.2.9-setup.exe
Adapt the last line to your system.
This invokes the installer with a clean path environment variable.
