Andrew,

Version 2.2.9 is available in fink if you enable the unstable tree. I would have moved 2.2.9 to stable, but a bunch of the gnome dependencies need to move to stable before I can do that. If you run 'fink configure', and answer yes to the question about using unstable, then the next time you run 'fink selfupdate' you'll get all the package descriptions fink will need to let you 'fink update gnucash2' to version 2.2.9
