copy and paste on Mac GnuCash

This may show my ignorance, but I thought that GnuCash would not even load
preferences without dbus running. My GnuCash starts and finds all the
preferences, but Ctrl-V doesn't work.

So how did you know that dbus wasn't running, and how did you correct that?
