OK, so since this file works on Windows and MacPorts, it's starting to
really sound specific to fink. Perhaps Dave has some suggestions? I have no
clue about fink. You could do a backtrace with gdb. That might help a lot.

I'm not sure where it would be. If you're launching GnuCash from the command
line, you could try just logging to the terminal instead by adding this to
your command: --logto stdout
