Where Is Data File? Name & Location?

It's possible I didn't.  Since it converted my QIF file as part of the
"initial startup", I thought it was already saved and I didn't want to save
any changes I might have inadvertently made while reviewing the conversion. 
Could this be why the file was never saved?

Also, I would like to have control over where the data files (data,
settings, etc.) are stored on my PC.  Can someone please describe the file
storage structure for GnuCash or direct me to where this info is described?
