Currency Get Online Quotes MTL

With the demise of Maltese Lira (Malta has joined the Euro), is there a
way to turn off the downloading of this currency? Get Online Quotes now
gives an error for MTL.

I have an a MTL cash account which now has a zero balance. I can uncheck
the Get Online Quotes check-box and get online quotes works without any
errors. However, when I restart gnucash, the Get Online Quotes check-box
is again checked.
