account) so that transactions would appear where entered until then. Not 
something I would want myself but I can see how some folks might want 
this. How hard or easy would depend upon how the implemented now.

ROFLOL the behavior is exactly how old fashioned "pen and ink on paper" 
books were kept and that's one of the features I like best about an 
automated system like GnuCash (favorite is of course "autoposting" but 
"put entries into proper date order" comes second -- I am almost never 
doing entry "real time" and receive transaction data out of order almost 
all of the time).
