AMEX settings not working

Are AMEX settings working for anyone (as specified here:
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/OFX_Direct_Connect_Bank_Settings)?  I'm getting
the following error: "A TLS handshake error occurred. If you are using
AqBanking you should consider enabling the option "force SSLv3" in the user
settings dialog." .... even regardless of whether I have Force SSLv3
checked.  I'm running GnuCash 2.2.9 (Ubuntu 9.10).
