So you are using GnuCash on Linux - openSUSE (11.2 ? 11.1 ?)
DON'T use gnc-fq-update as it will mess-up your installation
and your installed packages database.
First, check that F::Q is not already installed (not sure,
but it might have been installed at the same time as GnuCash).
On console, type:
which gnc-fq-dump
If you get "/usr/bin/gnc-fq-dump", then you know F::Q is
already installed. All you have to do is to configure your
quotes in GnuCash for online prices retrieval.
If not, then open Yast -> Install/remove software, search
for perl-finance-quote and install it.
You will also probably need to patch some of the files.
If the installed version of F::Q is 1.16 based, you need to
replace the "Quote.pm" module by a patched one you can find
here:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=555687
(This fixes a problem with the retrieval of currency quotes.)
Also, if you plan to use LeRevenu as a source for prices,
you need to replace "LeRevenu.pm" as well (same URL).
