Are you refering to this comment about the batch file?
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503722

In Gnucash.bat adding the lines
    set HOME=%LOCALAPPDATA%\GnuCash
    mkdir %HOME%
just before
    start gnucash-bin
should do the trick.

That will ensure that these files from now on get (re-)created in
C:\Users\JohnDoe\AppData\Local\GnuCash

But this will not remove the old garbage. You have to delete the old files
yourself.
Just be sure that your main data file isn't in that folder ;-)

Onderwerp: GnuCash folders in Vista home folder

GnuCash installs the .gconf, .gnome2, .gnuchash, .gconfd, .gnome2_provate
folders plus a few other items (logs and recently used file) in the Vista
home folder -- where vista keeps special purpose user folders that link to
documents, favorites, pictures, music, video etc. I'd rather not clutter
that area up w/a bunch of other folders.

Can someone pls tell me how to move the GnuCash files elsewhere? I've
looked in the forum and found one post that suggested altering the
gnucash.bat file. I tried the approach but couldn't make it work.

many thanks.
scott.
