Migrating to Gnucash, two scripts for the community

Hi,

I have finally managed to migrate all my financial bookkeeping to GnuCash.

In the process I've written two scripts that might be useful for other people which I therefore put under GPLv3 and published at:

http://matthias.riese.at.googlepages.com/

One for converting my bank account statements from the CSV format that ING-DiBa (a German bank) uses to QIF to be able to import the data into GnuCash.

The other script converts a GnuCash file into an OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheet (ODS). It does this by creating two sheets: one with all transaction splits, the other receives the meta information of the accounts.

I link this exported spreadsheet into the spreadsheet that I use
for my "controlling" where I have a condensed presentation of the exported data. So my spreadsheet is automatically updated whenever
I run the convert script.

This really works very smoothly and I am extremely happy now with GnuCash in opposite to the self-made spreadsheet-only solution I had used before.

If you have suggestions how to improve/extend these scripts please feel free to ask.

Thanks to the developers of GnuCash, Hope this helps, Matthias
