Password protection?

Although that doesn't answer the question, it doies suggest a solution.  I am 
not aware of any password protection, but somebody posting recently uses an 
encrypted partition.

You can always have your data on removable storage.  It doesn't have to be in 
My Documents.  Put it anywhere, and browse to the file with Gnucash.
