Installing help on MacOSX - can't resolve dependency?

I have 10.5 (although I compiled gnucash under 10.4 and that version  
still runs over 10.5 so I haven't tried updating it yet) and I have to  
first start X11.

Related to the other thread, what does gnucash use for the GUI when  
you install it without X11?
