I want very much to get rid of Quick books so I can eventually move away from
Windows. It looks like Gnucash will fit the bill however I cannot get it to
run in Windows.

I am hoping to share the datafile with a linux install later but for now the
chore is to move my data from QuickBooks to Gnucash. QB is on Windows.

I downloaded the latest win32 installer but after the installation when I
try to start Gnucash it just crashes with the error"

gconfd-2.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.

After that I have to use the taskmanage to get rid of it because the error
won't go away.

Any help is most appreciated.
