GC Won't Load

I understand your reluctance. My first action when this happened to me
(minus the error messages) was to try to completely remove all Gnucash
installation and settings files, and install the latest version. However,
this didn't help. I ran out of ideas about what to remove, and finally tried
the portable version. It worked. I figure since it's a self-contained
package, it doesn't look at any files outside its own installation folder,
and therefore isn't affected by them. Of course, your error issue may be
quite different from mine. Still, I'm pretty sure a portable version will
fix it.

Now as for not being the latest, well, it's not that old. It probably has
all the functionality you use. Granted it probably lacks a few bug fixes,
but then again everybody was using it, de facto, a year ago more or less
without complaint. That's the way I look at it.

Cheers
