Limit on number of entries?

   I hit 'enter' after putting a transaction in my checking account and
   nothing happened. Tried repeatedly and thought something wrong with
   computer. Just on impulse I went to the top and deleted a couple of
   early (2005) transactions. Problem immediately solved - 'enter' saved
   entry and took me to blank line. This suggests that there is an
   absolute limit to the number of transactions one can have in any
   account. Correct and, if so, how many? If so, is there some way I can
   limit the number of years shown?
   I like keeping multi-year transactions available for reference but
   maybe can't.
