Confused.. why are my expenses "profits"

I think you have that backward.  Normally, you want to credit an income account and debit an expense account.  If you are debitting an Expenses:dining account, the other side of the transaction should credit the credit card liability account.

I iddnt create the accounts my self they were auto created when i first set
up the program, however at this time, the accounts under expense
"Expense:dining,) they show up as black, and at the bottom it 

I went to my credit card page, and I debited a charge to my credit card (say
$33) then I would credit it to the Expenses:dining account but now the
expenses account is considered positive cash flow.

I am confused.. I am wanting to use it for budgeting purposes, but I guess i
set something up wrong.
