Filter reports

I  am trying to filter my checkbook transactions by the payee on 
checks.  I am not sure which expense accounts the transactions might be 
in.  I know I can run a report on all accounts and sort on the 
Description field.  I would like to filter on the Description field.  Is 
this facility available or, if I want it bad enough, modify the report 
code and add this facility?
